Dave Noble was born in 1949 in NewYork City to musical parents. His first two years of studying the cello were with a very fine lady and cellist from the New York Philharmonic and were to further his musical motivation for much of his professional life. His college days were spent at the University of Colorado where he was a student of Jurgen De Lemos (cellist of the Pablo Casals trio and principal cellist of the Colorado Symphony).

There, he met David Reeve, a third generation luthier at Boulder, which was to lead to a longtime association and friendship.

Dave lives near Frederick ,Colorado with his wife Christine Mason and their two dogs, a golden retriever named Ferocious Adagio and their Alaskan Husky Alou.
